Workforce Development- A Country Shire Council

Highcareergroup developed a Workforce Plan for the Shire to:

  • Clearly link to the Shire’s Strategic Community Plan, Corporate Business Plan, Annual Operating Plan and Long Term Financial Plan and work activities.
  • Match current workforce characteristics and capabilities, the external labour market and environmental factors against the organisational direction;
  • Determine future workforce specifications for the types, numbers, and locations of workers required to implement the Shires strategic plans;
  • Identify the gaps between future workforce requirements and the current workforce profile skills and qualifications.
  • Develop an Action Plan to identify strategies to close the gaps, implement the strategies and measures for assessing progress;
  • Ensure a framework is in place to monitor, evaluate and revise the plan.
  • Present the completed Workforce Plan to Council.
